- STRATEGIC INITIATIVES, PEOPLE AND CULTURE
Ben Caldwell is the Graduate Program Coordinator for CMDI, where he provides administrative and technical assistance to graduate students across their entire education lifespan, from initial interest questions to scheduling their defenses and graduations. He is also a data wrangler for faculty and staff, providing information to assist with any and all projects and initiatives across the College.
Ben received his BA in English from Morehead State University (Morehead, KY) in 2014 and MA in English from Austin Peay State University (Clarksville, TN) in 2017, and is currently a PhD candidate in (you guessed it) English at the University of Denver. His dissertation research examines literature about the Appalachian Mountains at the turn of the 20th Century, with a specific focus on the use of language and literary tropes associated with Manifest Destiny and "the frontier."
Originally from southeast Kentucky, Ben has lived in Denver since 2018. In his spare time, he loves reading, cooking, video games, heavy metal music, and playing with his two cats, Ozzy and Jasper.
