CMCI Now - Fall 2022 #1

Dear %%First Name%%,
In this edition of CMCI Now, we’d like to share more about outstanding research and creative work of our faculty and students.
This week, the Right Here, Right Now Climate Summit, co-hosted by CU Boulder and United Nations Human Rights, is revving up on campus. As people from around the world come together to shine a light on the environmental issues of our time, we’re sharing the climate-related work happening within CMCI. Discover how students and faculty throughout the college took climate action and how Associate Professor Phaedra C. Pezzullo elucidates the life-and-death impacts of plastic.
Innovation in research and storytelling is an ongoing theme this year. Explore how our students, faculty and alumni are retelling the stories of rural Colorado, reimagining mental health care or using technology to transform physical space.
I hope you enjoy this issue of CMCI Now and these stories of creativity, innovation and success that celebrate our students, alumni and faculty!
Warm regards,
Lori Bergen, PhD

Journalism students gather for a photo on campus during the 1925–26 school year. In 1922, the Department of Journalism was founded, and in celebration of its 100th anniversary, CMCI gathered information about some of the journalism program’s early graduates to share in Alumni News. Meet graduates from the 1920s through the 1950s.
