- None! Whether you’re completely new to the field or have had some exposure, this is the right program for you. If you’re already familiar with the subject matter, you can skip directly to the graded assessments.
Who is eligible for a free Google Career Certificate at CU Boulder?
- Any current student or recent graduate (within three years) is eligible. You must have the capacity to commit to the completion of a project. Staff and faculty may be eligible to participate if additional availability exists. Anyone not eligible can opt into the public-facing version of the Google Career Certificate program with a monthly fee by registering directly through Google/Coursera.
What is the commitment for me?
- Google Career Certificates are flexible, self-paced and online skill-building experiences. Each program takes 3 to 6 months to complete with under 10 hours of study per week.
Is it free to participate?
- Yes! The professional certificates are FREE for CU Boulder students and recent graduates.
How do I apply?
- Click here to apply! Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and spots are limited. Answer a few questions about your interest and which Google Career Certificates you are interested in. You will hear back about the program within a week. Please note: responses may be delayed during holidays.
Where and how will I complete the program?
- Certificates are on Coursera, a global online learning platform that partners with CU Boulder and Google. Google Career Certificates are completely online, so there’s no need to show up to a classroom in person. You can access your instructional videos, readings and assignments anytime and anywhere via the web or your mobile device.

- You will have access to a network of employers who specifically recruit Google Career Certificate holders.
