I started my career as a demographer, and I was interested in how women’s status shaped their reproductive health in south and southeast Asia. I received a PhD in Demography from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002 and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Wellesley College in 1997. After graduating, I worked as a researcher and instructor in public health, focused on children and youth outcomes, mental health, and social and health program evaluation. I discovered that helping students and investing in their success in higher education is especially important to me. Before joining the AAC, I worked for the city of New York and was a consultant to foundations and non-profits. I have lived in Colorado since 2015, and I love to go birding, being outdoors in general and reading mysteries.
