Nicholas Puente and Sarah Kurnick Publish Article in Latin American Antiquity

Nicholas Puente (Archeology, PhD Candidate) and Professor Sarah Kurnick publish,"Maya Roads as Kuxansumob: Analyzing an Intrasite Sak-Be," in Latin American Antiquity Journal.  Puente and Kurnick challenge conventional Western understandings of ruined structures by using the Indigenous Maya concept of a kuxansum, a living rope of blood to interpret a ruined road and emphasize how Maya ruins are affective and shape human action.
