About Us
Part of the Office of Undergraduate Education, Education Abroad (EA) serves over 2,500 CU Boulder students annually.
Established in 1960, EA administers hundreds of programs including exchanges, faculty-led, internships, research, and field study programs in more than 60 countries around the world. We also serve as a resource for the campus community and support academic units, faculty, and staff as they contribute to CU Boulder’s global initiatives and retention efforts.
The Education Abroad team supports students with:
- Program selection and application
- Academic planning
- Pre-departure preparations
- Facilitating the application of federal, state, and institutional financial aid towards the program fee
- Providing additional scholarship funding
- Health and safety oversight and support
- Ongoing support while abroad and after returning to CU Boulder
Education Abroad places a high priority on serving a diverse student body. We welcome applications from members of various groups which have traditionally been under-represented in education abroad, including first generation college students, LGBTQ students, student athletes, students with disabilities, students of color, and older students who have followed non-traditional paths to higher education.
