The International Risk Committee for Student Travel (IRC) supports the implementation of the CU Boulder Policy on Student International Travel and Programs and related rules and provisions.  The IRC reviews potential cancellation or suspension of education abroad programs when deemed necessary because of Department of State Travel Advisories or Center for Disease Control (CDC) Travel Alerts, considers Travel Advisory Suspension appeals, and addresses critical health, safety and security issues involving CU Boulder students, and the faculty and staff accompanying them on programs governed by the International Travel Policy.

The International Risk Committee for Student Travel (IRC) includes representatives of the following offices and departments: Risk Management, Legal Counsel, Dean of Students, CU Police Department, Provost, Education Abroad Committee, Strategic Relations and Education Abroad office. In addition, the IRC consults as needed with faculty and others on campus who have expertise in the locale of a crisis.
