The American Music Research Center (AMRC) is a joint venture of the University Libraries and the College of Music devoted to the discovery of new information about American music and to the sharing of those discoveries with the wider community.

The AMRC fulfills its mission to students, faculty, scholars and the public by sponsoring  concerts, conferences, lectures, publications, and other scholarly activities. The Center is also a repository of rare and unique music materials, housed within the University Libraries, which seeks to preserve American music of all kinds and enhance its cultural and transformational potential for future generations.
