Coffee cup and beans imageCoffee is returning to Leeds! Method Roasters, run by local entrepreneurs and Buff alumni, Alex Rawal and Kade Gianinetti will open a café, with a targeted grand opening set for the week of May 8 in the Koelbel building near the current business library.

The café will remain open throughout the summer to serve students, staff, and faculty with coffee and other light treats. Method Roasters is looking for great students to work at the café and encourages all interested students to apply through the Career Buffs site. The founders are also donating five percent of all sales from this location to fund a Leeds scholarship.

“In addition to the daily ritual of making coffee and loving it, we wanted to create something that could impact our communities here and for people across the world. Coffee offers the perfect opportunity for this since almost everyone drinks it,” said founder and Leeds alumnus of Method Roasters, Alex Rawal. “Launching our café inside Leeds was an ideal option when it became available – we can grow our business, support students in school, and provide funding for a scholarship.”

Method Roasters began as an idea in 2012 from Leeds alumnus, Alex Rawal and his business partner, Kade Gianinetti. The two met when they were students at the University of Colorado and shared a passion for drinking and brewing coffee. Their vision was to create a sustainable business that would positively impact the community. In 2013, the partners opened Method Roasters. The duo’s goal of creating a business that had a positive impact gained traction this year when the company joined 1% for the planet, a global network working together for a healthy planet. As part of their participation in 1% for the planet, Method Roasters will donate one percent of all sales to environmental causes.

The Leeds Method Roaster’s café will offer most of the traditional types of coffee between standard, espresso, cappuccino, and lattes while also introducing nitro cold-brewed coffee. This will be the first physical location for Method Roasters which plans to launch another location in Denver later this year. For coffee lovers and aficionados outside of Leeds, Method Roasters also offers subscription coffee plans and sells small-batch coffee to local shops.
