Career Buffs

Career Buffs is a comprehensive online career resource for CU Boulder students and alumni and your connection to all things career-related.

Log in to Careers Buffs to find:

  • Over 1,100 positions posted daily to include internships, job postings and volunteer opportunities from local and worldwide employers specifically seeking CU Boulder talent
  • More than 15,000 organizations that work with Career Services in the employer directory
  • Career Events Calendar including career panels, job fairs and workshops
  • On-campus interviews with companies from across the nation
  • Job search agents to alert you about openings that meet your criteria

You already have a Career Buffs account. To complete your registration, follow these steps:

  • Log in to Career Buffs with your Identikey username and Identikey password, and follow the on-screen prompts.
  • If this is your first time using Career Buffs, you will be asked to complete your profile. (Note: For best performance, disable pop-up blockers.)

How to apply for positions in Career Buffs (PDF)

  1. Log in to Career Buffs.
  2. Complete all the required fields and click Save.
  3. Click on My Account > My Profile.
  4. Job Preferences, Skills and Type of Positions Desired allow you to receive targeted emails when employers are looking for qualified students.
  5. You have the option to link to your Facebook and LinkedIn accounts. Enabling the link allows you to see if anyone in your network is connected to jobs you’re interested in.

  2. Click on Job Search, select Click Here to Search for Jobs!
  3. Click Advanced Search for more search options (The fewer criteria you select, the more results will return).
  4. Start with Job Category or Position Type (You can multi-select by holding down the ctrl key for PCs or the command key on Macs).
  5. Save your search results. Select Save Search after entering your criteria.
  6. Receive weekly emails about jobs by creating a Job Search Agent.  Put in your criteria, click search and select Email Me New Jobs. You’ll receive one email per day when new positions are posted.
  7. Save your favorite postings. Select the star next to the posting Add To Favorites. These posting will appear under the My Favorite Jobs link on the left-hand side of the home page.

  1. Log in to Career Buffs.
  2. Click on Career Events and select the Category filter.
  • Alumni. Includes all upcoming events for alumni. Most events are closed to current students, unless otherwise indicated.
  • Career Fair. Find out about upcoming career fairs and the employers who have registered.
  • Employer Info Session. Meet with employers in a casual environment to learn about their company and have an opportunity to speak with them.
  • Networking Event. Find upcoming opportunities to meet with employers and learn about positions.
  • Panels & Guest Speakers. Career Services partners with departments and often brings in outside speakers and experts.
  • Resume Critiques. Find out where to get your resume critiqued one campus.
  • Workshops. Workshops are held regularly on a wide range of topics, covering frequently asked questions. Presented by Career Services staff and career peer advisors.

  1.  Log in to Career Buffs.
  2. To see on-campus interviews for which you qualify, click  the On-Campus Interviews > View Schedules I Am Qualified For tab at the top of the screen.
  3. To see all on-campus interviews for the semester, click on View All Upcoming Schedules from the drop-down tab. Select criteria to search on, or press Search to see a full list.
    If a position is not showing up under your View Schedules I Am Qualified For section, click on the position description and the reason will be in red at the top of the page. For example, the system could be screening you out based on your GPA, citizenship, graduation date or major. Our office does not set these parameters, the recruiters do.
  4. If you qualify for a schedule, and if you have your documents (resume, cover letter) uploaded into Career Buffs, you will be able to submit your resume and/or other documents as long as the resume submission deadline has not passed. You can only submit your resume while in the View Schedules I Am Qualified For section.
  5. If you qualify, but the system is not allowing you to submit your documents, please call our front desk: 303-492-4100.
  6. Be sure to read our  Policies if you can't make a scheduled timeslot, or accept an offer and are thinking about changing your mind.

Reneging on a Job Offer or Skipping an Interview (No-Show) Policy
