Exploring

CU Experts is a research and expertise database that is searchable by department, research areas, international activity, and many other factors. It's often a useful tool to find faculty working in areas of interest who might belong to another department, academic unit or research center.

From the CU Experts homepage, click on "People" in the top menu to search the CU Boulder campus community.


Search by Concept

Enter a topic of interest (concept) on the search page to find experts throughout the CU Boulder campus community.

Filter Search Results

Use the menu on the left to filter the results of your search by organization, research area, international activities, taught courses and/or received honors/awards.

 

Explore Concepts

Clicking on a concept listed in the search results will allow you to explore that topic throughout the CU Boulder campus community.


Explore a Department

Clicking on a department will allow you to explore all of the concepts tagged in that particular academic unit.

Concepts in a Department

Clicking on a concept on a department page will provide a list of the people with expertise on that topic in the academic unit.

 

Network and Map

You'll find links to "Co-author Network" and "Map of Science" in the upper right corner of an expert's profile page.


Co-author Network

The "Co-author Network" page shows you some of the other experts connected to a particular profile.

Map of Science

The "Map of Science" page shows you how an expert's research concepts are connected.

 

Profile Page

Clicking on an expert's name will take you to their profile page, which provides a summary of their research activities.


Contact Information

You can find links to an expert's email, website and social media under "Contact Info" on their profile page.

Profile Menu

In addition to an expert's research interests, you can also view their recent publications, teaching, background, international activities and links to other profile pages.


Publications

Either scroll down or click on "Publications" to view an expert's recent publications, which can provide more information about their research activities.

Teaching

Either scroll down or click on "Teaching" to see the courses an expert has recently taught and consider enrolling in the future.
