2023 award recipients celebrated
The CU Board of Regents recently announced the latest slate of recipients of honorary degrees, distinguished service medals and university medals. The CU Boulder affiliates—Henry and Leslie Eaton, Barbara Grogan, Allan McMurray and Ginger Ramsey—will be part of a private ceremony on May 10. In addition, Ambassador David Bolen was posthumously honored with the Chancellor's Impact Award.

At its regular monthly meeting on April 6, the Boulder Faculty Assembly heard from guest speaker CU Boulder Chancellor Philip DiStefano, who reviewed accomplishments from the year and answered questions from members in attendance.
Shirin Ebadi says democracy will rise in Iran from current women’s rights movement
Nobel Peace Prize winner Shirin Ebadi told an audience on the CU Boulder campus April 7 that democracy in Iran will rise up from the current movement being led by the nation's women.

The Research & Innovation Office is requesting nominations by May 20 for the 2024–25 Distinguished Research Lectureship, which is among the highest honors bestowed by faculty upon faculty.

New laser-based breathalyzer sniffs out COVID, other diseases in real-time
A new “digital nose” created with Nobel Prize-winning CU technology can provide COVID-19 test results in less than one hour with excellent accuracy. It could ultimately be used for on-the-go virus testing, diagnosis of cancer and lung diseases and more.
