'Mama Said Knock You Out': Historical and Pedagogical Lessons from Black Radical Traditions of Refusal and Creative Escape

Carmen Kynard of Texas Christian University will deliver the annual keynote address of CMDI's Inclusive Pedagogy Series. She interrogates race, Black feminisms, Black cultures and languages, and the politics of education with an emphasis on composition and literacies studies.

Kitchen Table: Women’s Herstory Month

Join a special Women’s "Herstory" Month edition of this signature dinner program—featuring women from employee affinity groups and local women‑serving organizations. Come for the food; stay for the community, connection and real conversations. Share dinner, hands‑on activities and space to talk about wellness, leadership and the experiences of women of color. It’s a great chance to meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces or build relationships with mentors who genuinely get it. No meal plan? No worries. Meal cards are available at the Center for Cultural Connections and Community front desk on the day of the event. Spots are limited to just 20 students—save yours early! 

Inclusive Excellence in Gaming: Women’s Herstory Month

Celebrate inclusive excellence in gaming with a panel of incredible women across the gaming and esports industry. Panelists will share their personal and professional experiences in gaming, their celebrations and challenges, and how they see the future of gaming. There will be a moderated audience Q&A following the panel discussion. Light refreshments and hors d'oeuvres served.
