Be Involved Fair

Did you know students who are involved on campus, even if it’s just with one thing, are more likely to continue through to graduation? Your academic studies may be your passion, but for many students it’s the co-curricular involvements that keep them energized and connected to the Boulder community.

Whether you join a student organization, get connected with a campus department, work an on-campus job, volunteer in your community for an issue you are passionate about or find a new hobby you would like to explore, getting involved gives you the opportunity to grow – and the opportunities are endless! A great way to start your journey is by attending one of our Be Involved Fairs that occur each semester. Read below for more information!

Attending the event

What is the Be Involved Fair?

The Be Involved Fair is a Fall Welcome signature event designed to connect new and returning students with involvement opportunities on campus and in the community. This program celebrates involvement and kicks off the new year with a fresh start of exploring interests and making connections. Meet representatives from hundreds of student organizations, campus departments and local nonprofits!

When is it?

Wednesday, August 26 from 2-6 p.m. on Farrand Field

How do I attend or participate?

All students are welcome to attend the event. If you’re attending to learn more about student organizations or groups, please show up anytime during the event.

Adaptive bikes will be available for attendees to get around more easily on Farrand Field—brought to you by Service Learning & Impact in Community Engagement and Disability Services.

Ask questions

Before the fair, think about what opportunities might be best for you. Here are a few things to ask yourself:

  • Am I looking for on- or off-campus opportunities?
  • Do I want to be involved in Boulder or other local areas?
  • What skills or experiences do I hope to gain?
  • What do I want to contribute?
  • How much time can I commit?

When you are at the fair, talk with organization representatives to get an idea if an opportunity is a good fit for you. Here are some examples of what you can ask:

  • What does your organization do?
  • What does it look like being a part of your organization?
  • How can I sign up to get involved?
  • What kind of time commitment is there to be involved with your organization?
  • When do you meet?
  • Where are you located?
  • What resources does your organization have for students?
  • What do volunteers do at your organization?
