Be Involved Fair

Aug. 27, 2025 | 2-6 p.m. | Farrand Field

Did you know students who are involved on campus, even if it’s just with one thing, are more likely to continue through to graduation? Your academic studies may be your passion, but for many students it’s the co-curricular involvements that keep them energized and connected to the Boulder community.

Whether you join a student organization, get connected with a campus department, work an on-campus job, volunteer in your community for an issue you are passionate about or find a new hobby you would like to explore, getting involved gives you the opportunity to grow – and the opportunities are endless! A great way to start your journey is by attending one of our Be Involved Fairs that occur each semester. Read below for more information!

Prepare for the fair

Explore your options online

Ask questions

Before the fair, think about what opportunities might be best for you. Here are a few things to ask yourself:

  • Am I looking for on- or off-campus opportunities?
  • Do I want to be involved in Boulder or other local areas?
  • What skills or experiences do I hope to gain?
  • What do I want to contribute?
  • How much time can I commit?

When you are at the fair, talk with organization representatives to get an idea if an opportunity is a good fit for you. Here are some examples of what you can ask:

  • What does your organization do?
  • What does it look like being a part of your organization?
  • How can I sign up to get involved?
  • What kind of time commitment is there to be involved with your organization?
  • When do you meet?
  • Where are you located?
  • What resources does your organization have for students?
  • What do volunteers do at your organization?

Attend the Be Involved Fair

Meet representatives from hundreds of student organizations, campus departments and local nonprofits!

Want to learn more about student organizations? Search the student organization directory. If you’re looking for information about volunteer opportunities with local nonprofits, visit Service Learning & Impact in Community Engagement.

Adaptive bikes will be available for attendees to get around more easily on Farrand Field—brought to you by Service Learning & Impact in Community Engagement and Disability Services.

Attending the event

What is the Be Involved Fair?

The Be Involved Fair is a Fall Welcome signature event designed to connect new and returning students with involvement opportunities on campus and in the community. This program celebrates involvement and kicks off the new year with a fresh start of exploring interests and making connections!

When is it?

Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025 from 2-6 p.m. on Farrand Field.

How do I attend or participate?

All students are welcome to attend the event. If you’re attending to learn more about student organizations or groups, please show up anytime during the event.

Tabling at the event

Applications for the fall Be Involved Fair have closed. We are not accepting any additional groups to join our waitlist. If you have questions please email studentorganizations@colorado.edu.

How does my RSO/RSGO or campus department apply for a table?

This application is open to campus departments, recognized student organizations (RSOs) and recognized social Greek organizations (RSGOs). We are prioritizing RSOs, RSGOs and student-run university programs for this fair. We may be able to accommodate campus departments if space is available.

Applicants will be notified by the end of the day on Aug. 15 whether they have been approved for a table or added to the waitlist.

How can I see a list of who has a table at the event?

A full list of groups that will be tabling will be posted in August. For now, you can explore BuffConnect to find student organizations to connect with!

Tabling facts for community organizations
  • Applications for the fall Be Involved Fair have closed. We are not accepting any additional groups to join our waitlist. If you have questions please email volunteer@colorado.edu.
  • The Be Involved Fair is a drug and alcohol-free and zero-waste event.
  • There is a $30 fee for nonprofit organizations to table at the Be Involved Fair, which includes one 6' table and two chairs set up for you in advance. All fees go towards the cost of hosting this event.
  • Organizations who are tabling can bring their own 10'x10' tent to use for shade, but they must be secured with water, cement or sand weights (no ground stakes are allowed). Tables will be set up in a “neighborhood style” layout.
  • Internet access and access to natural shade is limited on the field.
  • All tabling materials must fit on your 6' table to allow for accessible walkways during the event.
  • No music, large props or open flames allowed.

Contact volunteer@colorado.edu with any questions, concerns or requests for accommodations.

Spring 2025

Our spring 2025 fair has already happened. Information about upcoming spring fairs will be posted during the fall semester.
