Welcome to Halloween month Buffs! This week brings to campus Research & Innovation Week, International Coffee Hour, free pizza, a party at The Connection, a mobile food pantry, soccer and football, trivia and more.

Monday, Oct. 6

Research & Innovation Week

  Oct. 6–10   Various Campus Locations
Join other faculty, students and staff during a week of research and innovation events designed to elevate awareness across campus, build a sense of shared community, create opportunities for collaboration and recognize exceptional leadership and outcomes.

Lug Your Mug

  9 a.m.–12 p.m.   Visual Arts Complex
Bring your reusable mug for free coffee! Milk, sugar and creamers are provided as well. You can thank the Environmental Center.

Prepare for the Career Fairs with The Center

  11 a.m.–3 p.m.   C4C N320
Get ready to shine at the fall career and internship fairs! Drop by anytime during this event to get resume feedback, practice talking with employers and print up to five resumes for free. No appointment needed, but there may be a short wait.

I Love Mondays: Pizza

Foodie Tuesday: Celebrating Latiné Heritage Month

Hosted by Engineering Connections and the Center for Cultural Connections & Community, this weekly event fosters community, introduces students to campus resources and celebrates Latiné Heritage Month.

Back for its fifth year and bigger than ever, Culture Crawl will have a limited edition T-shirt giveaway, food tastings, music, exhibitions, performances, art making and more.

Pie a Professor with Senior Class Council

Come pie your favorite professor and donate to the Seniors Creating Future Buffs scholarship at Senior Class Council’s Pie a Professor event! This event is open to all students.

Meditation

Take a midweek pause with the Mindful Campus team at CU Boulder. This 30-minute weekly session offers a rotating mix of contemplative practices led by Crown Wellness Institute facilitators and community members.

Buffs Bandana

The Buffs Bandana program is all about showing up for each other. It’s a campus-wide movement to raise awareness around mental health and prevent suicide—because no one should struggle alone.

Thursday, Oct. 9

Buffs One Read film screening: 'Callings'

  Noon–4 p.m.   Norlin Library, Rooms E206A and B
Join the Buffs One Read community to watch the docuseries "Working: What we do all day," inspired by Studs Terkel's book "Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day and How They Feel About What They Do." Terkel's book changed how people talked about work by listening to the experiences of ordinary people. The same book inspired Dave Isay's collection, "Callings: The Purpose and Passion of Work," this year's Buffs One Read. Stop in any time to view the docuseries and grab some popcorn. Find inspiration and insights for a behind-the-scenes look at how people experience their work. 

Mobile Food Pantry

  2–4 p.m.   Kittredge Central
The mobile food pantry is free and open to CU Boulder students, faculty and staff, and community members of Boulder and Broomfield counties. Attendees will receive up to 30 pounds of food (weight can vary). Be sure to bring your own reuseable bags or boxes! Food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. 

Arts, History and Culture Virtual Career & Internship Fair

1 thing to check off your to-do list 

  •   Get free tickets for the U.S. men's national soccer match: Watch the U.S. men’s national soccer team take on Australia! Pick up tickets on Oct. 10 between noon and 2 p.m. in the Center for Student Involvement (UMC 330). One ticket per student. You must show Buff OneCard to pick up your ticket. If you want to go to the game with a friend, please plan to pick up your tickets together. No tickets will be held. The game is on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Denver.

Feel Better Fast Workshop

Do you want to learn new coping skills to manage overwhelming emotions or feeling out of control? This three-part workshop provides practical skills to help you get back on track and feel better fast.

Cozy Gaming: Survival Co-op

International Coffee Hour

Saturday, Oct. 11

Student Game Day Huddle

  10 a.m.–12:30 p.m.   Farrand Field
Come cheer on the Buffs at the student tailgate tradition, hosted by the Division of Student Life and the Dean of Students. There will be free food, games, music and a chance to be chosen as the Student Fan of the Game. The selected Student Fan of the Game will have the chance to walk onto Folsom Field during the game! 

Volunteer with Ralphie's Green Stampede

  Noon–3:30 p.m.   Folsom Field
Help continue CU Boulder's tradition of zero waste at CU football games. Volunteer shifts will start before the game and last until the end of the third quarter. 

Buffs vs. Iowa State University

  1:30 p.m.   Folsom Field
Come cheer on the Buffs as they take on the Iowa State University Cyclones in this Saturday afternoon game!
