27 things to do: Visit majors and minors fair, Trash the Runway event, more

February is on the way out, and spring is in sight Buffs! This week brings to campus the Brakhage Symposium, a 24-hour hackathon, women's and men's basketball, Tortilla Chip Day, a pingpong tournament and more.

Monday, Feb. 24

Majors & Minors Fair

  12–2:30 p.m.   UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom
A&S departments will be in attendance to talk about their majors, minors and certificates. Free taco bar!

Neurodiversity Social

  1–4 p.m.   C4C N238 
Join us for a fun, creative afternoon at Access+ and customize a free tote bag! Whether you want to express your unique style, show off your artistic side or simply add some color to your day, this is the perfect opportunity to do it. All materials are provided, including fabric paints and brushes. Plus, take home your custom-designed tote bag to use for classes, errands or just as a cool accessory.

I Love Mondays: Tortilla Chip Day

  2–3 p.m.   UMC North Dining Room 
Celebrate Tortilla Chip Day with some salty snacks and dips on your way to class, and learn about different campus organizations.

His Dream, Our Legacy

  3:30 p.m.   I Have A Dream Foundation, 233 E. Mountain View Ave., Longmont
The I Have A Dream Foundation provides individualized social, emotional and academic support to young people ("Dreamers") from under-resourced communities from kindergarten all the way through college, along with guaranteed tuition support. Volunteers at this event will participate in arts and crafts and reading with kids. Transportation will be provided to ensure a 3:30 p.m. arrival. 

Trivia Night

With March Madness just around the corner, sports betting is on the rise. But what are the risks? Come test your gambling knowledge with our trivia wheel and learn about financial wellness. Prizes and swag are included! 

Native and Indigenous Scholarship Workshop

Are you looking for scholarships? Join the Center for Inclusion and Social Change, Scholarship Services and the American Indian College Fund for a workshop on identifying and applying for scholarships. Refreshments provided.

DIY Nights: Open craft

Join your fellow Buffs for an open craft night. We bring the supplies and all you need to bring is your creativity! There is no scheduled craft, and you are free to create whatever your heart desires.

Civil, Environmental, Architectural Engineering Virtual Fair

The CEAE department is hosting a career and internship fair on Feb. 26 from noon to 4 p.m. virtually in Handshake. This event is intended to capture all sub-disciplines within the department, including structural, lighting/electrical, mechanical, geotech, water resources, environmental and construction engineering and management. All interested students are invited to get information about opportunities with the participating companies in attendance.

Inclusive Excellence in Gaming: Black History Month

2025 Brakhage Symposium

The Brakhage Symposium is a 2-day forum on contemporary experimental film and media, featuring screenings and panel discussions with internationally renowned visiting filmmakers.

HackCU 11

  8 a.m.   Biotech Building
The largest 24-hour hackathon (invention marathon) at CU, with 200-plus expected participants returning for another year! Any student can attend to create awesome coding and hardware projects from scratch, while enjoying free food, workshops and fun mini-events (games, challenges, etc.). Please register by Feb. 27.
