Academic freedom and social media: Reflections and suggestions April 14
The CU Boulder campus continues its dialogue on academic freedom with a panel discussion on social media—sponsored by the Keller Center for the Study of the 1st Amendment, the Office of the Chancellor and Faculty Affairs—at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14.
Panelists include Alex Loyd, senior assistant university counsel, and Shontavia Johnson, an expert on issues of intellectual property and academic engagement and entrepreneurship.
This event, noted in Chancellor DiStefano’s Aug. 24 communication, follows the panel discussion on Dec. 3 that explored the rights and responsibilities of academic freedom for faculty. Panelists included Helen Norton, professor and Ira C. Rothgerber Jr. Chair in Constitutional Law at Colorado Law; Samira Rajabi, director of technology influenced practice and instructor at the College of Media, Communication and Information; and Andrew Therriault, data science and strategy consultant.
