Campus returns to enhanced access protocol
With the shift to online teaching and learning, the CU Boulder campus will begin operating under enhanced protocols for building access, effective Thursday, Nov. 26. Under the updated protocol, all CU affiliates will maintain general access via Buff OneCard to the Engineering Center, CASE Building and SEEC from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m, Monday through Friday. This access provides students the use of these facilities for study space and use of computer labs through the end of the semester.
Prior access preferences established on Buff OneCards for students, faculty and staff will remain in place. Students, faculty and staff who normally have weekend and after-hours access to specific buildings will still have access to those buildings. Anyone needing special access to a specific building is asked to contact their building proctors, C-CURE operators or department chairs to request the authorization/access needed on their Buff OneCards. Certain buildings may be exempt from enhanced access controls pending direction from campus leadership.
University Libraries, the Recreation Center and the UMC will publish their respective hours on their websites.
This measure is being taken for two main reasons: to help improve social distancing to reduce the spread of the virus; and to keep our buildings safe for students, faculty and staff while fewer people are present on campus due to remote work arrangements and remote teaching and learning.
Those who forget their Buff OneCards or keys but usually have building access will be granted entrance into their offices/buildings. Call the Operations Control Center (OCC) at 303-492-5522 for assistance. If you experience problems with accessing a building with your Buff OneCard, you can contact Access Services at 303-492-6609 during regular business hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After hours, you can contact the OCC at 303-492-5522 or occ@colorado.edu. The OCC is operational 24 hours per day.
