In September 2018, CU Boulder Today announced CU Boulder’s next national accreditation, scheduled for 2020. On Dec. 9–10, 2019, a team of peer reviewers from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) will visit campus to review the university as a whole and provide recommendations for continued improvement.
Join Senior Vice Provost for Academic Planning and Assessment Katherine Eggert to discuss the issues at CU Boulder that apply to accreditation and prepare for the site visit by the Higher Learning Commission on Dec. 9–10. Town halls will be held at the following times in the Center for Academic Success and Engagement (CASE), Room E351:
- Thursday, Nov. 14, 9–10 a.m.
- Friday, Nov. 15, 1:30–2:30 p.m.
At this visit, the team of reviewers will wish to speak with a cadre of faculty, students and staff who are engaged in the transformational work of our campus. The commission will let us know which members of the campus community they wish to meet at their visit, and there will also be open sessions for our students, faculty and staff to engage with this distinguished panel of our peers.
To prepare for this visit, town halls will be held on Nov. 14 and 15. These sessions will be to discuss the issues at CU Boulder that apply to accreditation and prepare for the site visit. After the town hall, attendees will be asked to meet with the team from HLC on Dec. 9 or 10. There will also be open sessions for our students, faculty and staff to engage with this distinguished panel of our peers, which will be announced at a later time.
Accreditation review gives CU Boulder the opportunity to demonstrate the integrity and quality of our mission, resources and teaching. It has also been an excellent opportunity to learn more about where we are strong and where we can improve. We look forward to welcoming the HLC site visit team to our campus.
