Hong Kong protests are expected to continue Tuesday as China celebrates National Day—an annual celebration of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China on Oct. 1, 1949. CU Boulder history Professor William Wei can speak to reporters about the protests, National Day and the ongoing relationship between Hong Kong and China.
In the summer of 1997, Wei worked as a journalist covering the handover of Hong Kong to China. His academic research centers on revolution and counterrevolution in modern China.
