The Connection closed on Aug. 1 and will be undergoing renovations through the 2019 fall semester. Once completed, the newly renovated space will offer the same great recreational options and amenities, plus a few new ones, in a welcoming and more open environment.
Since it opened in 1953, The Connection has had some minor renovations over the years. As the venue's popularity with students and the CU Boulder community continues to grow, the renovations will provide more space and services for everyone to enjoy.
Plans for both The Connection and Club 156 include:
- New leather booths in the bowling area
- New furniture and upgraded audio/video systems in the lounge
- New ping-pong and foosball tables
- Popular billiards, video game, karaoke, trivia, poker and comedy events, and Program Council concerts
The Connection will also continue to offer a full selection of food and beverages.
Fall 2019 events
Although the facility is closed through the fall semester, there will still be trivia nights, poker tournaments, karaoke nights, video game tournaments and comedy open mic nights in alternate locations inside the UMC. Visit The Connection’s weekly events page for dates, locations and additional details.
When The Connection re-opens in January 2020, it will continue to be a fun, safe and socially inclusive environment for students, faculty, staff and the community.
