Student sits in hammock on campus while studyingSummer is a great time to earn the credits you need while still being able to work, play, intern and travel. As you map out your summer plans, consider joining the nearly 8,000 students who take courses at CU Boulder each summer.

Consider the benefits

  • Get into high-demand classes: Summer Session provides an opportunity for you to take the classes you want or need the most.
  • Create a class schedule that fits your needs with multiple sessions offered between May and August.
  • Choose from over 600 class sections on-campus and online.
  • Enjoy small class sizes: Summer Session classes have an average of 30 students or less. As a result, students engage more often and more deeply with their professors and classmates, leading to a richer learning experience.
  • Focus on fewer classes: Unlike the fall and spring semesters, Summer Session allows you to focus your attention on one or two classes at a time. Immerse yourself in a topic you love or concentrate your efforts on a challenging class.

Exclusive summer opportunities

Several schools and colleges offer summer courses that aren’t available during the fall and spring semesters. These courses offer non-majors the opportunity to explore personal and professional interests ranging from music, design and law. Learn more about each school’s courses and summer programs:
