The National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER program offers some of the most prestigious awards in support of junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research and excellent education.

The CAREER Award requires an integration of research and education activities beyond the scope of a regular NSF grant. Early-career faculty interested in submitting an application to CAREER are invited to join the Research & Innovation Office (RIO) to:

  • Understand the specific NSF CAREER requirements
  • Learn specific approaches to write a more competitive proposal (due in mid-July 2018)
  • Initiate connections with various campus resources available to support faculty submitting to the CAREER program

This event will feature Diane Carillo, a proposal writer in RIO, as well as a panel discussion with current CU Boulder CAREER awardees Nils Haverson (Astrophysical & Planetary Sciences, department chair) and Shideh Dashti (Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering).

Registration is required, as space is limited. RSVP online by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30. Lunch will be provided.
