After Friday, March 17, all university-owned Macs will stop receiving updates from Sophos and will no longer be protected from malware.

Please make sure you have the correct antivirus software installed by checking the icons on the right side of your menu bar. Do you have a green box with a white shield in the middle? If so, you are protected.

System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection became the recommended antivirus software for all university-owned computers in December 2016, including PCs. This does not apply to personally-owned machines.

If you have Sophos or another antivirus provider installed on your university-owned Mac, please work to uninstall that software and install System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection for Mac. Visit the OIT website for step-by-step instructions on how to install.

Please contact the IT Service Center at help@colorado.edu or 303-735-4357 (HELP) if you have any questions related to this change or need help with installation.
