Do you have a university-owned computer? To ensure your computer stays protected from malware, please check to make sure you have the right software installed.
System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection is now the recommended antivirus software for all campus computers, officially replacing Sophos for Macs. This change does not apply to personally-owned machines and is far more likely to affect Mac users, as the Office of Information Technology (OIT) has already been recommending and installing this software on campus PCs for some time.
If you have Sophos or another antivirus provider installed on your university-owned Mac, please work to uninstall that software and install System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection for Mac. Visit the OIT website for step-by-step instructions on how to install.
If you are unsure if your Mac has antivirus installed on it, check the icons on the right side of the menu bar. If you are a dedicated desktop support customer, you should have the correct antivirus software installed already.
Please contact the IT Service Center at help@colorado.edu or 303-735-4357 (HELP) if you have any questions related to this change or need help with installation.
