Students at career fair

Nearly 200 companies will be on campus seeking University of Colorado Boulder students and alumni for full-time and internship positions during the annual Fall Career Fair in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom on Tuesday, Oct. 4, and Wednesday, Oct. 5, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

CU Boulder students and alumni from all majors, experience levels and backgrounds are welcome to attend this free event. No pre-registration is necessary; business attire is encouraged. Please bring your Buff OneCard or CU ID number.

“The Career Fair is always a great opportunity to connect with organizations and see what their needs are,” said Molly Bandimere, Career Services event manager. “This year we’ve modified our event to provide more opportunities for students to get face time with employers. We’ve expanded into three rooms within the UMC and extended the time to 4 p.m. each day. We love to see our student’s succeed and this is a great opportunity to do so.”

The first day of the Career Fair welcomes students who are seeking opportunities with a technology focus. This includes industries and organizations in aerospace, computer sciences, engineering, information systems/technology, research and more.

Wednesday’s All Campus Day features companies and organizations with a non-technical focus including accounting, banking, consulting, government, human resources, management, retail, sales and others.

“The Fall Career Fair draws in many companies and their recruiters who are CU Boulder alumni,” said Ann Herrmann, associate director of the counseling team. “This provides a great opportunity for students to connect and learn about possible openings – both internship and full-time positions, for all majors.”

This year, LinkedIn will be taking professional headshots, offering profile critiques and a workshop session at 3 p.m. each day for those attending the Fall Career Fair.

“We encourage students to start their searches now as many companies are recruiting for December and May graduates as well as summer 2017 interns,” said Herrmann. “Getting a head start in your search is always a great idea.”

Companies like Amazon, Google, Twitter, Lockheed Martin, Zillow and Goldman Sachs will be in attendance for the two-day event.
