Wireless networks across campus will experience a 15-20 minute outage in the early morning hours (before 7 a.m.) during one of three scheduled windows in the coming weeks. This includes UCB Wireless, UCB Guest, eduroam and other private SSIDs. Wired network connections will still be available during the outages. The outages will occur intermittently within the following windows:

  • Friday, Sept. 9 (between 6 and 7 a.m.): Campus residence halls

  • Tuesday, Sept. 13 (between 5:30 and 7 a.m.): Main campus and east campus

  • Tuesday, Sept. 20 (between 5:30 and 7 a.m.): Some buildings on main campus

See the Office of Information Technology (OIT) service alerts page for a more detailed schedule.

OIT understands that wireless service is critically important to nearly everyone on campus and is constantly working on ways to improve this service while minimizing impacts. For this reason, IT staff performs maintenance such as this outside of business hours and during non-peak times. This update is necessary to expand and maintain the wireless network and support future growth.

Please plan accordingly. Thank you for your understanding as OIT staff works to improve the campus wireless service.
