Are you a parent and/or prospective parent in an LGBTQ+ community? Are you seeking a space in which you can share your experiences, struggles and resources with other LGBTQ+-identified parents? If so, please join the CU Boulder queer parent support group. This group will challenge the sense of isolation that so many LGBTQ+ parents face via providing information about parenting, offering support in this journey and sharing experiences. A licensed staff counselor will facilitate the group process, providing information and understanding in a safe, supportive and accepting environment.

Facilitator: Connie North, PhD, MS LMFT, Staff Counselor 

North has a Master of Science marriage and family therapy, 2013; Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) curriculum and instruction and educational policy atudies, 2007; Master of Arts educational policy studies, 2004; Bachelor of human biology, 1998. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist and has sensorimotor psychotherapy level one trauma training. Her professional counseling experience includes three years in private practice and one year at a Longmont clinic providing counseling to individuals, partners/couples and families; One year providing counseling to undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Wisconsin. Prior to becoming a therapist, Connie was a faculty member in a school of education and an academic advisor for biology and psychology undergraduate students.
