Earlier this morning, a CU undergraduate student was arrested as a suspect in the stabbing death of a fellow student following an earlier altercation off campus. Boulder Police are investigating the crime and I urge anyone with any information to assist them. On behalf of the entire CU-Boulder community, I want to express my condolences to the family and friends of the victim of this senseless act of violence. I also call on our entire campus community to reject violence – unilaterally – as a way of resolving disputes. As we have seen in recent months here in Colorado and around the world, it stamps out our individual hopes, dreams and aspirations, and those of our communities. For those impacted by this crime and these other acts of violence, counseling resources are available through CU-Boulder’s Office of Counseling and Psychiatric Services, Office of Victim Assistance or through the campus’s Faculty-Staff Assistance Program.
