Many Theatre & Dance spaces are available for current majors, students enrolled in theatre or dance classes, and faculty/staff that need rehearsal space to work on departmental projects. Users may request bookings through Event Management Software (EMS).

General Information

Each space has different availability limits and restrictions. Please be familiar with all policies prior to submitting a reservation.

  • Submit weekday requests by 3pm the day before
  • Submit weekend requests by 3pm on Friday
  • No food or drink (except water) allowed in studios 
  • All active campus members will have access at sign on and do not need me to “create” or approve the account anymore

Dance Studios

  • Only dance MFA, BFA, and BA dance majors may request space in advance
  • Minors and other CU students enrolled in dance classes can sign-up for space on a weekly basis in studios W325 or W305
  • Theatre students can request space in W325, W305, Carlson Dance Studio, and S126 in Imig

Dance Studio W150

  • These are expensive, specialist sprung floors and susceptible to damage if not cared for – so protocols need to be similar to dance studios in the THDN building.
  • This floor is a dance only surface – no street shoes allowed
    • Classes & rehearsals for forms where shoes are required may use shoes that are non-marking, kept clean and used in the studios only.  This may include shoes for Hip Hop, character shoes, costume shoes
  • Furniture and props used in this room must be approved by the Director of Dance Production prior to use
    • Instruments, props and furniture must be carefully monitored to ensure no damage occurs to the floor
    • Use carpets under drums, cello spike stoppers etc.
    • Surfaces and legs in contact with the floor must be non-marking and protective of the floor
    • These items must not be used in any action that might damage the floor, mirrors or other parts of the room

Imig S317 Studio

  • Instruments, props and furniture must be carefully monitored to ensure no damage occurs to the floor
    • Please ensure that surfaces and legs in contact with the floor are non-marking and protective of the floor
    • Be careful that items are not used in actions that might damage the floor, mirrors or other parts of the room

For all reservations, you agree to:

  • Return the room to its original configuration
  • Not leave the doors propped open or unlocked
  • Report any suspicious activity to the CU Police Department at 303-492-6666
  • Violations of any portion of the terms of the agreement, as well other inappropriate or illegal behavior that violates campus policies will result in revocation of your access to space in the University Theatre Building, Imig Music Building, and/or Carlson Gymnasium
