Graduate Student trainees

Information on becoming a student at IBG is on the Prospective Students page. That page contains information for people who are not yet graduate students at the University of Colorado Boulder, and information for current graduate students at CU Boulder who would like to receive training in the behavior genetics.

Many of the faculty at IBG are recruiting students for the next academic year. Please see each individual faculty member's page to see if they are recruiting.

Postdoctoral trainees

Post-doctoral training opportunities are available through individual grants held by our faculty (contact individual faculty to inquire) or through our NIMH-funded T32 training grant, one of two such training grants held at IBG. Several investigators may serve as possible mentors for an outstanding candidate who wishes to further their training in behavior genetics. Projects include large human genetics studies, molecular genetics, and mouse behavioral studies aimed at uncovering and understanding genes related to mental health disorders. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to supervise and interact with junior graduate and undergraduate students.

Please contact individual faculty members about joining IBG as a postdoctoral researcher.

Faculty Positions

IBG is currently recruiting non-tenure track research professor positions. Research Professors are similar to tenure track professors in terms of salary, research opportunities, and graduate student mentoring but have fewer instructional obligations and cover their salaries through extramural funding.

IBG is not currently recruiting for tenure track faculty positions.

Student Employment and Temporary Researcher Opportunities

The Institute for Behavioral Genetics and associated research laboratories hire students and temporary researchers on an as-needed basis throughout the year. If you are interested in working in a research laboratory, please contact the lab or the professor directly to inquire about any openings. Student Assistant and Temporary Researcher positions typically start from $16.00 to $38.00 per hour depending on experience, education level, or other factors.

The University of Colorado is committed to diversity and equality in education and employment.
