Over 3,600 CU Boulder faculty and staff have participated in CU Boulder’s 2023 Faculty and Staff Engagement Survey. The survey measures concepts such as faculty and staff satisfaction, commitment, and empowerment. The results of the survey will be used to identify actions to improve the quality of the work experience for all faculty and staff.

The engagement survey is sponsored by Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Russ Moore and Senior Vice Chancellor and COO Pat O’Rourke. The Department of Human Resources, in collaboration with Arthur J. Gallagher, an independent engagement firm, is facilitating the implementation of the survey.

  • This is the first time we have conducted the survey since we emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic. We know the workplace and your relationship with it have changed. We want to know how these changes have impacted you.
  • We will compare this data to past engagement surveys in 2017 and 2020 to measure our progress, assess the impact of leadership actions, and evaluate trends that will enable us to better understand your needs.
  • We will use the data from the survey – both campus and unit-level data – to help inform how we invest in employee engagement, retention, and well-being going forward. These results will not sit in a binder. They will guide our planning and actions.

Personally-identifiable information is released to no one outside of Arthur J. Gallagher. Survey results will in no way identify you individually, and only aggregate findings will be used for organizational improvements.

The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

Take the survey through Friday, April 21, and you will be eligible to win a $100 gift card (10 gift cards will be awarded). Learn more about the engagement survey on the Faculty and Staff Engagement Survey website.
