Emotional Intelligence (EI) is the ability to recognize and understand emotions in yourself and others, and your ability to use this awareness to manage your behavior and relationships. EI has been shown to increase job performance, productivity, and personal excellence. Come to two half-day sessions to explore this important ability and gain skills to improve your own emotional intelligence. Participants will be able to:

  • Define Emotional Intelligence (EI).
  • Explain the business case for developing EI.
  • Recall areas of the brain involved in EI.
  • Describe the four elements of an EI model.
  • Apply strategies to increase emotional competence.
  • Construct an action plan to improve one’s own EI.

CliftonStrengths™ Introduction

CliftonStrengths™ Introduction seminar provides an opportunity for CU Boulder employees to identify their natural talents by taking the Clifton StrengthsFinder assessment. During this interactive workshop participants will learn to develop their talents into strengths. These strengths will allow participants to continue developing in their career and enhance working relationships. ​Participants will be able to:

  • Recognize their top five talents and discover their meaning
  • Explain their top five talents to others
  • Identify strategies to develop talents into strengths
  • Compare ‘balconies’ & ‘basements’ associated with each strengths
  • Use four domains to strengthen working relationships

Date: Jan. 16
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Location: East Campus, ARC 346

Cost: One-time $12 assessment fee to take the CliftonStrengths assessment. If you have already completed the CliftonStrengths assessment through CU Boulder, there is no cost to attend the workshop.

The 5 Choices to Extraordinary Productivity empowers people with clear discernment to avoid distractions and to accomplish the goals that matter most in their professional and personal lives. Supported by science and years of experience, The 5 Choices not only produce a measurable increase in productivity, but provide a renewed sense of engagement and accomplishment.
