The Office of Faculty Affairs coordinates a variety of activities associated with faculty life and academic programming on the Boulder campus. The office is a branch of the division of Academic Affairs and is administered by the vice chancellor and senior vice provost for faculty affairs.

Major office functions include:

  • Faculty Personnel: Faculty recruitment, hiring, and appointments; reappointment, promotion, and tenure; post-tenure review; evaluation and compensation; leaves, sabbaticals, and retirement
     
  • Faculty Development & Success: Mentoring; professional development workshops for early-career, mid-career, and teaching/clinical faculty; community building initiatives; leadership development; faculty relations
     
  • Faculty Data & Impact: Managing the full lifecycle of faculty data at CU Boulder and connecting information, insight, and policies
     
  • Program Review: Supporting the academic program review processes administered by the Academic Review and Planning Advisory Committee (ARPAC)

The Office of Faculty Affairs spans the following domains:

Creating partnerships with the schools, colleges, and other administrative units to support faculty in their mission-critical roles and providing policy advice and clarity to faculty and the campus.

Helping faculty envision, develop, and sustain successful careers at CU Boulder; providing faculty with opportunities to engage with the campus community and create a sense of place at CU Boulder.

Supporting faculty success through accurate data and collaboration, managing the full lifecycle of faculty data at CU Boulder, and creating partnerships to highlight faculty research and creative work.

Helping academic programs reflect, re-conceptualize and flourish and we foster investment and improvement in academic programs.
