Peer Academic Coaches are current engineering students who:
- Listen to your concerns.
- Understand and share evidence-based strategies and tools.
- Provide resources to help manage homework and prepare for exams.
- Support you while you develop new habits and make positive changes.
Purpose:
- To empower Engineering students to become effective interdependent learners with a deeper awareness of how to align their decision-making and strategy use with an expanded understanding of their needs, strengths, and values.
Mission:
- To provide trained peer academic coaches who partner with fellow undergraduate students by asking them powerful questions and accurately listening.
- To introduce and facilitate the development of academic skill building with strategies and tools to improve learning, test preparation, test-taking, planning and prioritization.
- To offer personalized support and connect students to campus and college resources in order to overcome academic challenges and achieve their goals.
- To cultivate an encouraging environment that promotes a sense of belonging for students.
Vision:
- To create a college culture where all undergraduate students are empowered to seek and utilize campus and college resources.
