Amanda Pyers

Amanda Pyers leads efforts to support space and facilities across the College of Communication, Media, Design and Information (CMDI) and serves on both the CMDI Leadership Team and Staff Leadership Team. She takes a human-centered approach to developing and maintaining environments that foster creativity, collaboration and well-being. In her role, Amanda also supports college space and facilities staff as well as the staff who manage the Creative Labs Center (CLC), a makerspace that provides hands-on learning and innovation opportunities for students, faculty, and staff.

Before joining CMDI, Amanda served as Director of Operations for the Environmental Design (ENVD) Department, where she led long- and short-term visioning for departmental spaces and processes, coordinated graduation ceremonies, and supported ENVD staff across communications, front office operations, and creative labs and digital media centers.

Amanda joined the University of Colorado Boulder in 2016 and has held roles focused on operations, internal communication, leadership support, event planning, and student engagement. She holds degrees in social work and Spanish education. Before entering higher education, Amanda spent more than 15 years in the food and beverage industry, including a decade in restaurant management.

Originally from Augusta, Georgia, Amanda has called Colorado home since 2014. In her free time, she enjoys reading suspense, horror, and fantasy novels, seeing live music, watching scary movies, cooking and enjoying good food and spending time with her husband and furbabies.
