Students
Individual Counseling
The College of Engineering and Applied Science has hired a full-time embedded counselor, Dr. Daniel Raedel, who is available to meet with students on Main Campus (Engineering Center, ECCR 228) and East Campus (JSCBB, Room D322).
To initiate care, the first step is to access walk-in services located in the main Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) office in the Center for Community, Suite N352. Walk-in services are available to all students and are offered:
- Monday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Tuesday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Wednesday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Walk-ins with Daniel specifically are available Fridays from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Let's Talk
Let’s Talk is a free service where CU Boulder students can stop by for an informal and confidential consultation with a counselor. No appointment is necessary. Students are seen on a first-come, first-served basis at various Let's Talk locations across campus. Let’s Talk counselors can help provide insight, solutions and information about additional resources. Students commonly visit with concerns about stress, sadness, worry, relationships, academic performance, family problems and financial struggles.
Please note: This service is not a substitute for formal counseling and does not constitute mental health treatment
Staff and Faculty
Faculty and Staff Assistance Program
Free and confidential counseling for faculty and staff. Walk-in hours are 11 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. Located at the Administrative Research Center (ARC) on East Campus, A353 or by phone at (303) 492-3020.
"Living Well Today" Seminars
Join the Herbst Program for Engineering, Ethics and Society for weekly conversations about texts of both contemporary and perennial relevance as we aid one another in understanding our students and equipping ourselves with the concepts and vocabulary to guide them. It has become increasingly clear that the unique challenges our students face are likewise challenges for us, their teachers, advisors and mentors. By considering these challenges collectively, we will be better equipped to help them - and maybe even to live healthier lives ourselves.
Meets weekly on Fridays starting Sept. 20. Find locations and topics here.
Supporting Students
- Faculty and staff should consult resources on supporting students in distress by going to the Red Folder on their campus issued computer or the Red Folder website.
- Faculty and staff can contact Dr. Daniel Raedel, the college’s embedded therapist, if you would like to discuss topics related to health and wellness for students, such as supporting students in a class after trauma has occurred.
