Two therapists from Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) are now specifically dedicated to supporting A&S students.
The college’s primary embedded therapist liaison is Rachel LaHoda. Rachel will serve as the college’s key CAPS collaborator regarding mental health needs and programming for A&S students and also providing counseling services to A&S students. Rachel will also sit on the A&S Student Wellness Task Force, where she will partner on student programming development for the college. The college’s second embedded therapist is Colleen Ehrnstrom, who will also be dedicated to providing direct care and support to students. All A&S students can also see all CAPS counselors including Karen Hamilton-Stokes, Therapist Focused on Black/Black-Identified and Marginalized Students, and Ben Ototivo and Beth Parsons, Multicultural Specialist Positions.
How to get connected with CAPS and the A&S Embedded Therapist services:
- Make a Telescreen Appointment (first step in getting connected) with CAPS through your MyCUHealth Portal or go to https://www.colorado.edu/counseling/schedule-appointment.
- Rachel’s (A&S Embedded Therapist) Telescreen times are Tues/Thur 1:00-3:00, however, you can meet with any provider and pick a day and time that works best for you.
Social wellness means developing a sense of connection, belonging and a well-developed support system.
