Alumna Paige Edmiston Awarded the 2025 David Hakken Graduate Student Paper Prize

Alumna Paige Edmiston (PhD Anthropology, 2025) awarded the 2025 David Hakken Graduate Student Paper Prize from the Committee on the Anthropology of Science, Technology, and Computing.  Her award-winning paper, “So Consistently Incompetent It Feels Purposeful”: The Strategic Inefficiency of Paperwork in the American Health System, explores how bureaucratic hurdles function as active gatekeeping mechanisms.
