Alumna Paige Edmiston (PhD Anthropology, 2025) awarded the 2025 David Hakken Graduate Student Paper Prize from the Committee on the Anthropology of Science, Technology, and Computing.  Her award-winning paper, So Consistently Incompetent It Feels Purposeful”: The Strategic Inefficiency of Paperwork in the American Health System, explores how bureaucratic hurdles function as active gatekeeping mechanisms.
