The Department of Applied Mathematics is hosting a special colloquium later this month with APPM’s Distinguished Professor Mark Ablowitz speaking. Mark Ablowitz received the 2022 Hazel Barnes Prize, the most prestigious award presented to individual faculty members by the University of Colorado. Chancellor DiStefano describes the award, stating that “since 1992, the Hazel Barnes Prize has been awarded each year to the CU Boulder faculty member who has most consistently demonstrated a strong, enriching relationship between his or her teaching and research, and whose work has had a significant impact on students, faculty, colleagues, and the University.”
The colloquium, held Friday, October 28, 2022 at 3:35pm in ECCR 200, is titled “Looking Back: Reflections on Research and Teachings” and will include a background and discussion of Dr. Ablowitz’s most distinguished work. This colloquium is aimed to be understandable for non-specialists. There is a zoom link that will be made available for remote attendance: https://cuboulder.zoom.us/j/98823984777.
We encourage you to join us October 28 for this one-time, special colloquium!
