Detachment 105 Roll Calls were created when Rebecca and Genevieve were having a drink at the Walrus after the 2002 graduation. We were reminiscing about all the fun we had at CU and how our best friends and best memories were with those from Det 105. With everyone commissioning and heading in all different directions, we wondered if we would ever see them all again. So we decided the best way to get back together was to create reunions that would bring everyone back to Colorado. Rebecca created the first Roll Call in 2003 and the tradition began!
In 2011, we became an official Affinity and Interest Volunteer Organization which gives us support and benefits from the University to continue holding Roll Calls every 2 years.
If you are interested in becoming a chair or being a committee member for any of these chairs, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
In 2011, we started a scholarship fund for Detachment 105 cadets. Each year, the top 3 non-scholarship AS200 CU students are submitted as semi-finalists. The scholarship committee then interviews each semi-finalist and selects the winner who receives a scholarship for the following academic year.
The funds for the scholarship are primarily raised during our bi-annual Roll Calls. The CU Alumni Association matches the funds for each scholarship so we are able to double the amount each cadet receives. This does mean that the scholarships are limited to CU students.
If you are a cross-town Det 105 alumni and interested in starting a scholarship fund at your school, please contact the scholarship chair, Brock Lange, at email@example.com.
