Teaching Institute for Graduate Education Research (TIGER)

The Teaching Institute for Graduate Education Research (TIGER) at the University of Colorado at Boulder was formed in 2006 to address the importance of building a solid research base on teaching and learning at the baccalaureate and postgraduate levels.

TIGER is the University of Colorado's liaison to the National Center for the Integration of Research on Teaching and Learning (CIRTL). CIRTL is based upon work supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. 0227592
Any opinions, findings, and conclusions or recommendations expressed in this material are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views of the National Science Foundation. We are working together to promote the development of a well-prepared national faculty in the STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) committed to implementing and advancing effective teaching practices for diverse student audiences as part of their professional careers. The pillars of the National CIRTL Network - Teaching as Research, Learning Communities, and Teaching and Learning through Diversity - underlie all Network activities. Through our collaboration with the National CIRTL Network, we have leveraged the power and resources of many local and Network faculty to enrich our discussions on the scholarship of teaching and learning.

As part of the GTP, TIGER offers workshops that focus on the CIRTL pillars to graduate students and faculty. TIGER workshops complement other GTP workshops and are relevant to students in all disciplines. These workshops offer a place and time for open discussion about teaching and learning in STEM disciplines and beyond.
