Writing for Publication
A class handout, an evaluation of a student’s work, or a letter of recommendation is no less a form of publication than a scholarly essay or a grant proposal. Faculty who would like to improve their skills in preparing any such documents, from the most humble to the most complex, are encouraged to enroll in Well Argued? Well Written: A Writing Workshop. For more information and to register for this workshop, please click this link and look for "Well Argued? Well Written." Each workshop meets three times, enrolls three participants, and takes as its subject matter the participants’ own writing.
Among faculty who have written or revised scholarly articles during these workshops, most have since published their papers. In addition, past participants report that the workshops have helped them to set better topics for student papers and to grade those papers more effectively.
