My research focuses primarily on leadership and leader development. Specifically, I am interested in how leader characteristics, such as emotions, charisma, and gender impact leader and follower outcomes. In addition, I study how leader development can improve leader and organizational effectiveness. Related to leader development, I have worked on grant projects across diverse industries including nonprofit and construction. I have published over 20 peer reviewed journal articles in outlets such as Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, The Leadership Quarterly and my work has been covered in a variety of media outlets including ABC news, NPR, Newsweek, and CNN International.
