The Department of Women and Gender Studies (WGST) offers different job opportunities for academic, research, and administrative related positions throughout the year. The number and type of positions available will vary in any given semester. Only students who are current CU Boulder degree-seeking students either on main campus or through continuing education qualify for student jobs. Undergraduates must be enrolled in at least six credit hours per semester, and graduate students three hours per semester, to work in a student job class.
WGST regularly hires undergraduate or graduate students as graders. Some of the courses that typically have associated grader positions are: WGST 2020, WGST 2600, WGST 2700, WGST 3250, WGST 3311, LGBT 2000 (other courses may also have grader positions).
The WGST grader position is a Student Assistant II hourly position, as outlined by the Student Employment website. The pay rate, during the spring 2022 semester, is $18.00 per hour, with approximately 4-8 hours of grading per week (will fluctuate according to weekly class assignment/exam schedule). We require that you have taken and successfully completed the course, in order to be considered for a grader position.
If you are interested in a grader position, please send a résumé of experience and list of WGST courses completed to Alicia Turchette.
Hourly Student Assistants (Research)
WGST hires hourly student assistants (undergraduate or graduate) to support faculty research activities, when opportunities/funding are available. Key responsibilities and hiring ranges for research support positions will vary according to the position and are described on the Student Employment website (Student Assistant I – IV), based on the complexity and skills required for the particular project.
If you are interested in an hourly student assistant position for research support, please contact the faculty member with whom you are interested in working.
Hourly Student Assistants (Administrative)
