"Viola" by Josef FischerJosef Fischer is a third year viola performance major at the University of Colorado Boulder. He has attended and performed at many summer music festivals, including the Florentia Consort (in Florence, Italy), the Alba Music Festival and the Aspen Music Festival (where he played in the Aspen Festival Orchestra) the Aspen Opera Orchestra, and the Aspen Conducting Academy Orchestra. He will continue his studies in Aspen this summer.

Josef has been an active chamber musician, played in many ensembles and collaborated with artists such as Erika Eckert and members of the Takács Quartet. He is currently the violist of the Namalése Quartet. The Namalése Quartet was selected as the quartet in residence of the Florentia Consort Music Festival.

Josef has received multiple awards and scholarships, including the Don and Maria Johnson Scholarship, the Undergraduate Music Resident Award, the Gabor Ormai Music Scholarship, Louis & Harold Price Foundation Scholarship, and the Starling Foundation Fellowship.
