Colorado Governor Jared Polis and first gentleman Marlon Reis, a CU alumnus, married in a ceremony held at CU Boulder's Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre on Sept. 15. The occasion represents the first same-sex marriage of a sitting governor, according to the Associated Press.

As a small group gathered for a tree dedication ceremony on June 26, Chancellor Philip DiStefano described the defining qualities of Peggy Coppom and her late twin sister Betty Hoover as Forever Buffs for whom the trees are appropriate—symbolic of their dedication to CU Boulder.
