Summer Camp Spotlight: Aquetza Youth Leadership, Education and Community Empowerment Program
Aquetza is a free, 10-day summer residential program on the campus of CU Boulder that provides high school students with strong ties to Chicano/Latino communities from across Colorado with an interactive, academic enrichment experience focused on engaging youth in examining the history, literature, health science, and relevant social and political issues surrounding their cultural communities through rigorous academic work in ethnic studies, writing, reading and science. The application deadline is May 5.
Campuswide camps
The Aquetza camp is just one of the campuswide summer residential and day camp offerings. Others programs are designed for budding scientists, aerospace engineers and musicians. Still more focus on the language and culture of ancient Rome, college preparation, speech and hearing challenges and more.
