Use language translation services? BuffSpeak wants to hear from you

From frontline employees who are still learning the subtleties of the American vernacular to museum personnel who want to engage with diverse audiences—students, staff and faculty sometimes require written translation or interpretation services to get their messages across. To do so, they typically turn to off-campus service providers or tap into the expertise of an individual on campus who is proficient in Spanish, Mandarin or another in-demand language.

As part of the annual grant competition in Senior Vice Chancellor and CFO Kelly Fox's Strategic Resources and Support organization, a small team of university employees is initiating a needs-assessment survey to better gauge the full scope of language translation and interpretation needs across the CU Boulder campus. 

The project, BuffSpeak, is one of 10 to receive a seed grant in the competition, designed to reward creative solutions to identified problems or unmet opportunities on campus.
