Atkins named campus Bursar
The University of Colorado Boulder named Gregory Atkins as director of the Bursar’s Office, effective Oct. 10.
New '4+1' program adds up for future teachers
The School of Education and Department of Ethnic Studies have partnered to offer a new program that will allow future teachers to earn a bachelor’s degree in ethnic studies and a master’s degree in education in five years. The new “4+1 Ethnic Studies and Education Concurrent Degree Program” (BA/MA) will begin admitting students in spring 2017.

International Open Access Week: 'Open in Action'
This week, Oct. 24 to Oct. 30, is International Open Access Week, and the University Libraries and the Open Science Interest Group are co-hosting several events on campus. This year’s theme “Open in Action” is about taking concrete steps to open up research and scholarship to students, researchers and the general public.
CWA kicks off new speaker series Thursday
This semester, the CWA Speaker Series will host two talks on the CU Boulder campus. The first will feature Daniel Traub, NYC-based filmmaker and photographer on Oct. 27. Then on Nov. 3, the CWA will host Vice President of Data Strategy for Twitter Chris Moody. Both events are free and open to students and the community.
CU Law to host 'Strong Sisters' film event
CU Law School is hosting an event centered on electoral politics and reproductive justice on Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. The evening will feature clips of the film 'Strong Sisters' and a panel of currently- and previously-elected officials to speak on these issues and their experiences as advocates.
The Manhattan Transfer and Take 6 join forces for performance at Macky
One group single-handedly brought vocal jazz to the masses. The other’s smooth R&B hits inspired a new generation of a cappella mania, from 'The Sing Off' to 'Glee' and 'Smash.'

The campus will conduct a test the CU Boulder Alerts system on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at noon to raise awareness of how the campus community will be notified in case of a campus emergency. The test will include text messages, emails, social media, desktop alerts and website announcements. Learn more.
